I just got my first boat and put a 1990 force 90 on it and its running great, but it wants to steer hard right. I centered the motor on the transom and the only thing i can think of is the little I guess you would call trim tab right above the prop that looks adjustable back and forth would that really change it. Or is there something else i should be doing? The boat is 18 1/2 foot and it did 27 mph on full plane on the speedo

Yes, the trim tab helps, not as much as on the newer styled ones.
Looking at it from the back, move it all the way to the right.

Also examine the skeg (fin extending down, below the prop).
If it is bent, it will turn the boat.

Also check the mounts and bolts where the midsection of the motor bolts onto the transom bracket.

Finally, is the motor mounted level?
