This last weekend we had our 1989 20' Baretta v bottom boat out and noticed tat I was getting alot of water in the bildge. I seemed to be worse when we were stopped. It has a 4.3 I/O, OMC out drive. Any help on what this could be would be appreciated. I found no holes in the hull of the boat.

Thanks,

Chuck

How hard are the bellows to replace? I have had the outdrive unit off and that went really easily.

I agree, take a look at the bellows and all areas around the drive that water may be able to enter

Difficult but not impossible for a first try. I managed to pull it off. You can download a manual that will help walk you through it.

If your bellows are not leaking, check the seal around the Gimble ring. The two bottom bolts holding it together worked themselves lose on my boat and I was taking on a good bit of water. A wrench and some 5200 solved the problem.

Mine puked a shift cable boot, leaked like mad. Look at that too. Best to do all the rubber while you're in there.
