Boat that works out of water...

Our boat will go into gear when its at the house, but when we put it into the water it only goes into reverse... Any one have a answer to this one?

Are you sure it goes in forward all the way? Have you tried putting it in gear turned off?
Shift carefully as someone rotates the prop.Be sure the key is off. Some motors freewheel only one way when in gear and rattchet the other way. Others rotate about 1/3 freely either way.
wouldn't hurt to tell us what motor.
