I have a 19.5 foot aluminum blue fin with a 3.0 mercruser, alfa1 outdrive. It has a dolfin and no trim tabs. the prop is three blade, I dont know the pitch. Anyway when I plane out the boat tilts to the left. It dont seem to pull hard just leans. Any ideas will help. thanks

Thanks for the idea on smart tabs, this boat does a lot of trailering since its a fishing boat. On each side of the alpha one is the transducer and the speedometer is on the other side, next is the bunks. How close to the sides of the boat can the tabs go so they wont interfere with the other stuff?

I am having the same exact problem with my brand new Seapro 210cc with '02 Merc 150hp and i cant figure it out. The boat is also very very bouncy and spits up a lot of water behind it

Hammer,

You will want to install the smart tabs about five inches from the end of the transom. It is easy to adjust the boards to avoid the tabs. As to the transducer, mine is flush with the bottom of the boat and rides up on the bunk.
Your boat would probably use the -40 size.

Compcrasher86, If you are throwing a large rooster tail, your engine may be trimmed too far back.. If you have a manual adjustment, set it in pin one and see how it rides. Smart tabs will smooth out the ride and help the boat get on a plane faster.

Regards,

John
