Not sure why my boat has a noticeable lean or unbalance to one side under power. It is not from any weight distribution problem that i am aware of.
Wondering if it has to do with hydrofoil or trim tab although seems unlikely. Gas tank was full but that should be centered.
Ty 90 merc. 4.3l 155hp w/ alpha 1

i will try that...i just pulled similar advice off archives stating to turn anode towards the listing to compensate.

Single engine boats tend to lean in the direction that the prop spins. That is why boats with twin engines are counter rotating. Fins tend to help…but the anode may need some tuning.

Re: boat tilting under power

tystick;

This is very typical of a Torque list. The prop rotates clockwise and the boat wants to "unwind" counter clockwise. Therefor a list to port when cruising. This is why most boats will have the helm on the right starboard side to help offset the list. Common on aluminium boats, although also occurs on others.

If the boat runs bow down at cruising speeds, with too much keel in the water, this list can be exagerated. This is also common when hydrofoils are used. The hydrofoil has increasinly more lift as the boat goes faster, and will tend to push the bow down. If the motor trim can not push the bow back up enough, the boat will "bow steer" and the list will get worse.

The steering tab on the cavitation plate may help but it is likely that this is not the cause.

Re: boat tilting under power

Tystick,

I recently had this problem as well. I replaced the trim anode and that corrected the problem.

One question I have for the rest of the guys on the board. I took notice of the trim annode yesterday and it appears to be bending to the right. Is this normal? It has only been on for may 2 - 3 hours of use and I have not hit anything, but the bend is significant enough to notice by just looking at it. I would say 5 degrees to the right and more pronounced at the bottom. Just curious, boat still riding great, and probably better now then when I first installed the anode.
