Can anyone tell me how long the boat titling process takes in FL, especially Oceola County?
This is just for a title for the boat, not registering it. I bought a boat from a friend awhile back before he moved to FL, but the title was never changed to his name here in the state where I live. So, to make a long story short...I sent the title down to him so that he could get it in his name, he is then going to send the title back to me so that I can register it in my state. It has been almost 6 weeks and he said he still has not had the title sent back to him yet. Does 6 weeks seem like a long period of time for FL?

in Florida you can pay a small extra fee, when you apply for a title, at the tax collectors office and get the title right then. if you don't want to pay the fee, you usually get the title in the mail within 2 weeks.

Thanks for the info. Well...I guess I'm going to light a fire under my friends butt, my guess is he's been yanking my chain about having to wait so long.

I got all these details two weeks ago from the local registration office when a title was overdue.

Title processing and delivery is within 20 days in Florida. If it doesn't arrive within 20 days you can go to the tax office and request a quick title. It takes 10 minutes and you walk out with the title...cost is $7.50.

Or you can request it sent again and they will do it free for a return time inside of 10 working days. I did the free "send again" way and it arrived in the mail 6 days later.
