hello i had to modify my 24' pontoon boat trailer cause toons was rubbing tires, so i raised the pontoon up with some fabrication it sits nice now on bunks, but i am worried i build it too high to get above the tires. i measured from the bottom of the toon to the ground and i have 30'' is that too high cause it seems way up in the air now. and how far would you say i would have to back up into water to get it off cause i haven't tried it yet. and i have a 2013 ford f-150 2 wheel drive ??? any help will be greatly appreciated

Your problem with getting the pontoon off the trailer will depend upon the ramps that you use.
If you are using a "deep draft" ramp, which angles down quicker than a regular draft ramp, you should be able to off load the boat with out much trouble.
A WORD OF CAUTION. Be sure that you know where the end of the concrete ramp is and DO NOT back the tires off the end of the ramp.
If you should happen to do this deed, you will be in for a nightmare in retrieving the trailer with out damage.

wow, 30" from bottom of toons to ground... I'd be far more worried about tipping that entire thing over. Even a good wind could tip that over when it is stationary parked in its parking spot.

I'd also be worried about bridge clearances if he leaves the canopy up!

I need to retract, 30 inches may not be that bad. Never owned a pontoon so I'll leave the total height thing to others. My cruiser (27 footer) sits 35 inches to the bottom edge of the sides, and 22 inches to the keel. I can put it in easy enough, but most times I need to get the truck tires wet to be in deep enough.

Edit: I also weight in at over 10K

My 24ft sits about 28" to the bottom of the town. But I custom made a trailer with rollers on the front 8ft so I don't have to go so far in the water. Still have a few things to finish but here is a picture

The bunks are typically right over the fender with little or no clearance. That what you have?

well my trailer started out as the deck rested on the beams and toons hung over sides and was rubbing tires, the only way i could fix it was to raise it straight up, but i think i went too high. i just need to get another trailer or trade this one off thanks guys

Just for grins, what tire size are you running on the trailer? Are they the original tires or did someone possibly put bigger tires on it?

Let's see a picture of what you have.

All the people that think this is too high have never owned a pontoon boat. I just bought one and they have to sit high to clear the fenders. Because of this, you have to back them in a LOT further to get them off the trailer.

Sorry for the late reply.
Hickory Point, which is located on the EAST end of the bridge on Route 19 going into Howey-in-the-Hills.
There are two sets of ramps. The first set are shallow, designed for crafts about 14 foot long. The second set are for larger crafts, with the"center" ramp designed for deep water. The concrete ramp ends at the end of the wooden structure, the end has been scrubbed to a deep hole by those who power load their bass boats.
