The current winch I have is rusted and want to buy a new one. Dry weight of my boat with 225hp Evinrude, 89hp Evinrude(kicker), four 12 volt batteries will be roughly 3000 lbs. So I'm looking for a winch rated between 1600-1800lbs. Question is what is a good reliable winch that won't break the bank? Looking for something under $100. Keep seeing SeaSense, Fulton, etc...

I can't say how reliable they are--I have never had problems, BUT: I have bought Fulton winches with parts missing (at yard sales) and the company was very helpful in getting me replacements. I would rate their customer service as excellent!

From personal experience, stay away from SeaSense. They're junk that is also sold as a house brand for a number of big box stores- Bass Pro, etc. The Fultons I've used have given good service. If yours is still functional, you might consider disassembling it, cleaning up the rust, and then re-install with a new strap.
