I have a 1970 C/C 27 commander and I would like to gut the cabin and change the layout.make the port counter alot smaller and lose the table in favor of a love seat or small couch.Do you think this would hurt the little value this craft has?

Re: boat value interior work

There are a couple of thoughts that come to mind. If you indeed plan on selling one day and do make those interior changes then some 'purists' will shy away. It won't be original. On the other hand, there will be those who just like the changes and it doesn't matter to them. For the most part a boat that is well maintained both mechanically and cosmetically is going to be a lot more attractive to a potential buyer then some interior changes. That really is a tough question to answer. This is just my $.02

Thank's gcboat. The boat was takin care of until 3 years ago. Then it was givin up on.I just brought it home from Hudson.I guess I am going to get it back up to par and sell it.It is a decent boat but dated interior design. If it were 33' or larger I would go through the hastle.

Just thinking of something concerning your interior. A little changing of those dated countertops, wood trim, etc. will go a long way in its presentation. Wouldn't be that expensive to do and just might make the world of difference. Even a change out to some cheap - but new - curtains will make a difference. Whatever you do, make sure the bilges are clean. If someone knows boats that's the first place they'll look. :D
