5.7 liter mercruiser.. My boat has a water heater that uses water from the engine to heat up the the water in the water heater.

1. Would a boat that circulates water to the water heater run cooler or warmer than an engine that doesn't?

2. If the water heater has a clog in it somewhere in this circulation, would it cause the engine to run warmer?

Re: boat with water heater

The water heater should have no affect on the engine running temp, to prove this just pull the 2 hoses off the water heater and join them together. They just go through a copper coil inside the heater.

1).. Irrevelant

2).. The ONLY Difference it would make is,... Your Water would be Cold,+ Not Heated..........

If your boat is experincing an Overheating Issue,........
It's Not the domestic waterheater.......

I'm bettin' Capt'n Kid's boat is a Smidgin Bigger than Yours Cobra................ :D
