Last Summer every time I launched the boat, she would simply begin to float off the trailer. Sometimes we would still have to give her a push, still it always went smoothly. The last time I used her was in November. That day and yesterday, I could not get her off the trailer it's like she is glued to it. I weighed the trailer and boat and they are still the same weight as when I bought them(give or take 5 pounds). Yes, my straps were off. I have a 1964 Starcraft Bahama with 40hp evinrude, and 1964 holsclaw trailer. Any gusses as to why it's not coming off?

Thanks,
Tom

Is this all at the same ramp with the same water level? If the angle of the ramp differs that could be your variable

Back in a little deeper? I highly doubt it somehow became glued to the trailer bunks... Lol

Total weight may be the same, but did you shift it around any? Like maybe move the battery or the fuel tank to the stern?

Happen to install any new accessories that might be screwed to the bunks? ;)

Re: boat won't float off trailer anymore.

I have not installed anything new on trailer or in boat(yet). Nothing has shifted positions. The main lake I use is Skaneateles near Syracuse(GO Cuse!!). I also use Owasco lake, so my ramps are the same as last years. We had nearly no snow this year, so our levels are down. I can't back in any further or my entire muffler tip will be submerged.

I'm leaving in a few minutes to try again. I'll post in a few hours(maybe tomorrow) the results.

Thanks,
Tom

I've always kept the battery and fuel at the stern.

In this area it is not uncommon to see, big boaty/ shsallow water, launches with the muffler also summerged .
Tail pipe tip under water is nothing !!
Just be sure brakes are cooled on you truck before you summerge them also !!

Sounds like a shallow ramp problem, but next time you have the boat in the lake spray your bunks with Silicone Lubricant to help boat slide on and off easier. There's also some black plastic Bunk Glides you can screw onto your bunks to make the boat slide on and off easier....But if you try those and go to a steep ramp, keep your bow line attached until you're ready to launch, or your boat may just slide off before you're in the water! Good Luck!:)

Every year after winter my boat gets stuck to the carpet on the bunk boards. After I get it off, it's good to go. Sometimes I use a lubricant on the carpet. It only does it if the boat sits on the trailer for extended periods. It is kind of a pain, but only takes a few more minutes. When using the boat every weekend, no problems.

I had a 1968 Holsclaw. Best trailer I ever had. Back then as I remember they were all roller tilt trailers.

If you ever get even close to making bubbles with the exhaust, you are way too far in.

Lubricate the rollers, then use the tilt function. Should come off like greased lightnin!

if it needs to be busted loose for the first launch, try lifting the stern slightly with a floor jack.

This one has rollers and stabilizing bunks, but no tilt function. I'll try some lube.

I saw something like these today at bass pro. Maybe I'll give them a try.

Dry bunk carpet vs wet bunk carpet. Silicone spray.

I dunk my boat into canandaigua, skaneateles, owasco, Oneida, Ontario and the Seneca river. Often times my muffler tip is submerged, it just bubbles and burps. Hopefully you've figured it out.

carpet on the bunks might be worn to the rubber backing in places (would not take much_
the rubber backing would adhere to the bottom better that the carpet
Just a thought
