im looking at a 16ft. 70hp boat that i want to use for wakeboarding i just want to make sure it will pull me and my friends (200 lbs) with 3 of us in the boat?? so many people say you need 40+ hp and youll be fine but then some people say you need 100+ its only 16ft so it cant be that hard can it? he said with 4 friends he was in the mid 30's for top speed. i also am new but would like to hope it has some wake behind it. thanks so much

Re: boat

It is definitely possible this boat will pull a wakeboarder, but you need to provide a little more information to say for sure.

Is it fiberglass or aluminum and if fiberglass, what is it's weight?

You need to remeber the optimum wakeboarding speed is between 18 and 22 MPH. so you need to make sure this boat will plane out and hold plane in this speed range. It may be possible you will buy this boat and have to buy a different prop and/or add smart tabs or a hydrafoil to get planed out in the speed range.
