Re: Boating Magazines?
By far the best magazine I have come across is DIY boating. DIY has great articles and photos about keeping your boat running and looking great. The only bad thing about this magazine is that it is there are only 6 issues per year, but you can get all of them on a cd.
Most boating magazines I have read seem to be very snooty and snobbish. The advertisements and reviews are for products that only the super wealthy can afford. I have no interest in a boat that cost 70~500k, but maybe others do.
I am currently building a boat, and have subscription to Wooden Boat. This is an ok mag, mostly to do with sailing, but does have some interesting articles.
When I am flying or tavelling I usually pick up a copy of Power Boating or Motor Boating, but these are more for staring at blankly to pass the time. There are about 3 paragraphed sized articles in a sea of ads. Not for me.
Long rant short, DIY Boating is a fantastic magazine and I highly recommend a subscription.
