I'm having two problems but I'll only talk about one on this post. 1992 Johnson 225 HP is bogging when I run. She to idles fine. She will drop RPM's when I run the throttle up to 5 MPH then it speeds back up. She does it at all speeds. Not sure if I have a fuel problem or electric problem. Here's what I have done so far.

When she bogg's I pump the primer ball, push the choke, no change. Ball feels good
checked for spark in the driveway while on the ear muffs, all six have spark.

Installed a new primer ball and water seperator filter. No change.

Vent on gas tank appears to be clear.
Good compression on all six.

Do I have a fuel, electric, or timing problem?

Are you checking the spark with engine running and up to operating temps? Checking the spark at cranking rpm on cold engine and less then 5 seconds will not check the run timer sensors, only the Quick Start sensors.

I'm checking saprk @ idle speed when she's warm. I EVEN CHECKED IT @ NIGHT FOR STRAY SPARK. I recently dropped it off at the local mechanic. I'll let you know what they find.

Stoked Not

Check and make sure the trigger is moving. It sounds like it stuck. No advance will make it fall on its face.

I had a similar problem with my 200xp. It turned out to be the timing basin. I had to replace it. B like it was said if no advancement, you might have a problem.

Good Luck
