Hello,

POsted a while back about my bogging 3.0 merc. I didn't get any replies, but I found the problem on my own and got the boat running great. Thought I'd post this to help anyone else with a boggy 3.0 liter.

The problem was the accelerator pump inside the carb, there is a screen inside and it had some junk on it. I don't think the plunger was operating smoothly either. So upon investigation, I found that the pump was barely dribbling gas, not a nice fine stream it should've had.

Long story short, I cleaned the accelerator pump, cleaned out the float bowl and all the jets while I had it apart, and put it all back together. Now it has awsome throttle response and immediate power to pull someone up.

Total cost: $4 for a new gasket. :)

Where do you get just the gaskets? All the places I've looked only set the whole kit..... or a whole gasket kit which is just as much as a carb kit.
