oh gods of the Iboats forum....
my 2004 merc 9.9 Four stroke electric start, remote steering - it starts perfectly, idles perfectly, when I try to accelarate it bogs.
New carb, new plugs, new fuel, new fuel filter, new fuel hoses, new fuel primer bulb, take vent appears not the issue because I used an external tank to take this onboard fuel cell out of the picture. Fuel filter arrow pointing in the correct direction.
I was going to change the fuel pump - but the my parts guy forgot that piece of my order. He says anyway that if I squeeze the primer bulb and there is no difference in bog, it's not the fuel pump. I also took the fuel hose off the carb while idling - and it is pumping gas to the carb.
So my choices at this point are to change the fuel pump anyway or take the motor in for service.
I've heard that the timing on the motor may also be the culprit. Perhaps also compression.
What say you oh gods of the Iboat forum.
Thank you.
