I have a 1986 60 johnson that i just overhauled motor runs great exept when you try to load it on the trailor. things i have checked, all new fuel lines, kits put in all 3 carbs, floats check, new gas tank, checked valve in new tank, new fuel pump installed,in line filter arrow is the right direction,135 psi per cyl, carbs have been gone thur 3 times by me and 2 times by certified mechs, this will throw you off you can get it on the trailor and give it gas and it will run great for 3 to4 times and then bring it back to idle then try 2 or 3 more times it will bog and some times die it is intermitent..thank you

Re: boging when loading on trailor

I think it's trying to keep you from comitting the mortal sin of powerloading.

does it do this any other time, when going from neutral idle to mid speed? Have you tried pushing against something to see if the resistance is doing it?

If it's only on the trailer, perhaps it's the angle of the motor when you are part way up. I've seen motors that are temperamental at different angles--something to do with the fuel level in the bowls.
