Hello

I have a 1998 mercuries 350 EFI MPI
Engine Serial OL067176
Sterndrive OL153367

I recently had the timing set, changed spark plugs, rotor and distributor cap.

During acceleration, I noticed she bogs down from idle thru full throttle which makes it getting out of the hole a little slow. once she is out of the hole, she runs nicely and tops at 4200.

I had the mechanic test drive it today and he said it may be a fuel restricted issue. They don't have time to fix it this week....

Is there anything I can test or a part I should replace? The current fuel pump was replaced 3 years ago.

I look forward to any and/or all suggestions

Ayuh,.... The Fuel Filter....

Don't just toss it, inspect it's contents for water in a bowl, or clear jug...

It's a new water/fuel filter. I checked the content, no water all is fine. Re-installed it. Actually, I remember reading a previous post where you said not to re-use the filter. I will get a new one tomorrow and install it.

I've been reading on it and I'm starting to think its the TPS. I got a volt meter from lowes, headed to the marina to test it. Is that a good educated guess and/or the next logical step other than just sinking the boat?
