Hi folks, I have a 97 seadoo gti that's always ran well. Last few days noticed it bogs down almost like its going to stop until it runs for 5 minutes or so, then can top it out running smooth an any speed. Am going to change the 2 plugs and check fuel filter if I can find it. Beyond that I cannot even guess other than fuel pump?? Any thoughts appreciated.. Oh and she starts up with no problem.

do compression test to rule that out. Next, if your mechanically inclined, you'll want to remove the carb (i40) and take it apart. Inspect the filter inside of it, and clean it out. If blue/green slime is present at filter and/or barb fittings on carb, you'll want to replace the fuel line. Also, the inline filter (under the hatch assy), overtime, the oring gets brittle and allows air to be introduced. The "fuel pump" is located on the carb, itself. No need to purchase a carb kit, when the only problem is the clogged filter, unless the "pumper"..aka diaphram, is hard and not plyable, then you'll need to purchase just 1 of them..15 buks.

Replace the fuel line with regular auto fuel line from store...$1.00 ft. get 10-15ft of it. Replace lines from tank to selector switch..(on/off/reserve switch), then from switch to filter, then filter to carb. No need to replace the pulse line nor the "reutrn" line, from carb to tank.

On the fuel sending unit, you'll see with a light, markings...on, ret, res, vent....the "on" on "res" are directly across from each other, normally the "res" is located to the "left" of the pink/blue wires coming from baffle/sending unit....good luck.

brand new, 720's bang at 150psi. So anything above 120-125psi your ok, AND nothing more than a 10% difference...

rite-on davey! No need to "fix" it, if it aint broke. Did you hold the throttle open, while doing compression test? Either way, its running and ur hav'n fun, and saving whats left of summer

No on the throttle down, just got compression tester from harbor-freight. All three of my motors came in at 90 give or take 1 or 2 lbs. A 1997 Evinrude 50hp, A 98 140 Johnson and the ski . Gotta make me wonder on accuracy?? Guess the big idea is all cyl. are close. Any thoughts Timmyboy. Think I will get another one or have a trusted mech. test one to see where Im at with those readings.Yep I am enjoyin an not fixin......
