Re: Bombardier FOR SALE

Yep, sure have.

Bombardier, as a corporation, is a little cash strapped. The most profitable part of the company is the recreational vehicle side.

At last look, the Bombardier family is trying to put together a group to buy the the rec. veh. group.

That would be a good thing. The Bombardier family seems to be committed to their namesake and knows where their roots are.

The rest of the corp. group wants to go off and play with jets and trains.

Re: Bombardier FOR SALE

Hey Rod, there was an extensive posting on this, back in April. Including a link to a Bombardier Company letter and update. I bumped it up to the top for you on the Nothing to do with Boats page.

The long and short of it is that nothing is supposed to change as far as dealers and product lines. Just ownership of the rec division.

http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=20;t=001117

Re: Bombardier FOR SALE

I talked to a friend of mine who works for BRP when we were at the MAATS show last week. Officially, they will tell you the same thing thats in the "Real Deal" -- its down to 6 companies. I'm convinced they know who the winner is.

Look for some real neat stuff from E/J this year and next, and its not limited to E Tec. They are very excited.

A dealer should keep up with what is going on, otherwise how can they do the latest researched service work for the company's products???? :D :D

Time to show up early some day and sit in his office reading them and eating donuts.

Tell them you would really like to see the articles because friends and family have asked you about it, and you feel you are missing out on important info that may effect your life.

Re: Bombardier FOR SALE

Hey Rod -- doesnt that make you wonder what else you havent been told?????

Manufacturers hear it all the time at trade shows. A highly skilled tech comes by the booth and says " I didnt know you changed / made / improved / dropped that product (or policy)". Its very frustrating for manufacturers to realize that all that work to get the info out there went for nothing because it sits in the front office.

Youre not alone Rod -- I wish there was an easy answer.

Re: Bombardier FOR SALE

Thats nothing, Ive been back to Merc school and told the instructor about something new Ive seen in the feild.. His repsonse" I havent heard anything about that" If I read as much as I need to to keep up on things I wouldnt get anything done, besides it may be 2-3 years before I have to repair one of the NEW products. A example is Mercs 496.. Havent seen one yet.....
