I have a 1989 four winns vista 245. With a 7.5 l I'm just trying to eliminate possibilities It was running but then it died I'm pretty sure it's in the carburetor but I have a bonding wire that's disconnected on the outdrive would that make the motor not start?

no, it would not cause your motor not to start. it will cause corrosion in your drive, however have nothing to do with your lack of start.

if the motor is fuel injection. it could be bad fuel system. however the ignition system on the 460 is also obsolete and NLA.

time to start troubleshooting.

what is your compression? (hint, should be about 150 psi)
what is your fuel pressure?
do you have spark at all 8 cylinders?

It's definitely in the carburetor, had bad fuel. I have a rebuild kit gonna give it a shot
