I need to bond a piece of treated wood to the top of my plastic gas tank in my bass boat. What is a product that will work for this that will hold good and take just a little flexible movement. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Silicone adhesive should work. It will give you the little felx you want. If you can't find silicone adhesive, plain old 100% silicone caulk will work too, just not as strong a bond. It will help to rough up the area with 80 grit sandpaper first. And note that silicone and gasoline don't go well together. It will be ok if it gets gas on it, as long as you wipe it dry.

Other folks will tell you if there is something better to use. Those plastic tanks don't let much stick to them too well.

Re: bonding wood and plastic

I was just asking about bonding a plastic fairing block to my hull as the tubes of life caulk/ boat caulk say do not adhere to plastic. So I'm gonna say 5200, or the lighter version (4200?)
