Re: Bondo? Torque shift prop?

Yep, I've got 1..... I'll Never go boating without it again.....
It's taken a little bit of tuning + tweaking to get it where I want it, But the hassle is More than worth it.... I just bought 2 more on ebay... $400. for Both of them..... 1 is complete,+ ready to go.. the other just needs a set of cams + springs(about $30.) I paid $350. for the 1 I'm running now.... I've been watching them on ebay, the last few weeks there has been several, from $378.44 to $571.... +, of course the 2 I bought for $400....
I don't Need 2 more, But I'm building a New to Me boat,+ Will Have to have 1 for it...And, Parts is Parts, Spares are Spares....
I have mine set-up for trolling/fishing......
11" pitch, low gear lets me troll just off idle, up to 1000rpms or so... with the 45lb. springs, it holds in low gear a little longer...
Upon accelleration, the motor Jumps to 4650rpms, it'll pop up on plane,+ run up to about 30mph, then I overtrim abit, to cause an Up-shift, Then I can settle into the high-pitch cruise.... WOT is 44mph on Lake Ontario,+ 53mph in the saltwater off the coast of Maine...
The only way to describe the accelleration is "VIOLENT".....

My boat is a 221 Starcraft Islander 1974 Fully Dressed in Lake Ontario Fishing Gear... 4.3LX engine 205+hp/Alpha1 outdrive with 1.65/1 ratio... weight is about a ton+1/2...

And, It doesn't seem to matter How Many people are onboard...(within reason of course)

If you have anymore Questions, I'll be Glad to try to answer them.....

It's for my Bayliner 19' capri with a 2.3 OMC. With just my and 1 other person and our gear for the day, Its fine but 3 or 4 others on it It's a slug. I have a Hustler 13 3/4 x 17 on it now and I think thats a pretty good fit for the boat. It does all it can. Do you think a torque shift would be good for me?

Well, If you've read my past posts, You'll know that I've Never seen a Bilgeliner that I'd call a boat.... And I Really have No Idea What the 2.3l Ford/OMC motor Is( Never seen one..Honest)..........
The 11"pitch low gear would really wake up your low-end... But getting the high gear down to 17" might be tough.... I'm not sure how low a pitch you can get with the screws turned all the way in.... I Might be able to tell you after I get the 2 new ones.... Or you could get the blades straightened a little bit....

As stated before, My Snotty little 4.3LX is a Real Demon, with this Prop....

I don't get why people say that about Bayliners? Maybe I just got one that was better that the others? I mean yeah there inexspensive so if you are comparing it to a sea ray your not comparing apples to apples. I have had this Capri fo 3 summers and never had a problem with it.With a light to moderate load it will run 45+ mph which it think is pretty impressive for a 2.3 engine on a 19' bowrider. I paid 3k for it and had it painted and re-upholstered, thats all. Now the 30k Donzi... if you want to talk about a maintenance prone vessel...Jeez.
