Afternoon all,

I've been looking for a local retail source for Fiberglass resin to make it convenient for me to pick up as needed.

WEll, I can across this stuff at Canadian Tire yesterday

and I am wondering if this would be acceptable for use to repair and/or replace floors and transoms???

I know that there are a more than a couple of members that swear by West SYstems and Epoxy, but I do not care to order something that expensive and then wait endlessly for it to be shipped up here to me in Canada. And it's not so much that the product is unreasonably priced, it's the shipping and hazardous goods fees that would be out of this world.

Besides, if this stuff will do the job and provide me with a proper repair - assuming i do my part right, then $50 CAD (about $44 USD) for a gallon seems pretty darn reasonable.

That stuff will work for a few things, but its not resin, its putty (filler), so you still need to find a supply of resin. The Bondo brand resin will work OK, but many people find the it cures far too fast for larger jobs.

Actually, that might not be such a bad thing here since ambient temps tend to be on the cool side, so that should help slow down the working time somewhat.

Stopped in at the local autoparts place, and they did indeed have some evercoat products, but not the one already mentioned. They had 'Kitty hair' instead, which appears to be about the same class of product as the 3M bondo one.

This stuff was priced at darn near $70 a gallon, so this looks like yet another option.
