Looking for book suggestions for fiberglassing basics, including use of microballoons and vacuum bagging. Any suggestions?

Welcome jtrom,

Books? you won't need any books here, just time and a willingness to learn...you are in the best place to learn all there is to know about fiberglassing, right here in this Iboats boat restoration forum...

Start out by reading the sticky at the top of this page titled"How to"s..."

Then start looking through some of the restoration threads...

After awhile, you will know almost as much about fiberglassing as anyone out there...

Although if you really want to spend money on books, I am sure that the iboats marine store might have some as well as places like, slamazon, fleabay, local bookstores, etc...

Enjoy and have fun,
GT1M

The Fiberglass Boat Repair Manual was the one recommended to me as the bible of FG. It gives a good history of and shows everything about working and repairing glass.

FWIW - I made it halfway through it and went back to reading here. I do recommend it if your a book reader but have found everything in there is here. Pro of the book was not as much searching for the tidbit I was looking for. Con - I picked a greater sense of real world application (for lack of a better term) from reading here.
