I have a 1973 65hp mercury 3 cyl twin carb. What is the bore and stroke ?
How many CC's does this engine have ? Will it accept larger carb's with no problem?

Re: bore stroke

You motor has 816cc or 49.8 cu in. 2 7/8 x 2 9/16 bore x stroke Theoretically you can put larger carbe on it but you won't increase your hp. This is a 2 stroke and the carb, reeds, ports (both intake and exhaust) are all designed to work together.

Re: bore stroke

Thanks for the info. In the late 80's and early 90's I built and raced 2 & 4 stroke quads in the north fla motorcross circut. Many things can be done to 2-strokes ie port timing, extra finger ports, light weight pistons, carbs, ligthen flywheel, carbon reeds ect... I have searched over the internet to find that no one hotrods their own boat engines. Wouldn't a small light weight high hp engine be a bennifit?
