Boston Whaler Pilot House

I’m thinking of removing the center console on my 19’ Boston Whaler and adding a Pilot House. What thickness plywood should I use, and since it’s not part of the hull will a cabinet grade plywood work if it’s painted with deck enamel?

I would still coat it with epoxy resin or a product like CPES from rotdoctor before painting. http://www.rotdoctor.com/products/product.html <br /> The thickness of the ply would depend on how you plan on framing it.

I would use some good 8ply half inch plywood. It can be good and strong. MDF also works good if you put fiberglass over it.
