Hey guys. Quick question. What is the best way to remove the bottom paint off of the boat that I restored? I trailer the boat and use it 50/50 in salt and fresh water. The paint is so ugly and flaking in areas. Plus, once i get it off, is it best to repaint it or just let it be. Just think it will look even more aweful once the paints off.

Any clues to what grit/type paper. Best inexpensive paint since it is a trailer boat.

Wil - nice boat, I would go with a good quality bottom paint and take your time with it. The instructions on the paint can will give some good details on surface preparation. Be careful, however, as some of the old bottom paints were really toxic. Really really toxic. You want to use a full respirator while you are sanding - simple dust masks are not good enough. Avoid breathing this stuff - its a biocide.
