Bottom paint

I have a 1985 wellcraft and have always painted two coats of anti fouling bottom paint on her each year. This year I was thinking of just sanding and painting the spots that have gotten to bare fiberglass. Thought?

Sand down to bare fiberglass, 2 coats of barrior paint, 3 coats of bottom paint
