Ok....So I got this "New to me" Arima last May. I wanted to do new bottom paint over the winter and in preparation I pressure washed the bottom becasue of all the loughing of the old UGLY paint. I also needed to see the condition of the hull beneath the paint (I had some chips and there had been some areas where some growth had been scraped off).
During the pressure washing stage I had 1 large (over 6") section of the gelcoat and 1 -2 layers of glass come flying off. BLISTER!!! ...and a BIG one at that!!
I immediately stopped the pressure washer and decided to had sand the entire hull. I ended up finding no more blisters but did find at least 6 other smaller areas where the gelcoat had been scraped of chipped off down to the glass.
Now that the hull has been sanded, I need to clean it again (I'm planning on using Acetone)..unless someone can offer a better solution. Then I need to fill and fair the areas to match the hull contours so I can repaint the bottom (Im planning to use the a High-Performance product from West Marine that's made for trailered boats.

My question is......

What is the best compund or product to use for the filling and fairing? Marine Tex? Glass and resin? Or what??
