Ok looking for some verification to my diagram here.

Bought a 1978 Evinrude 35HP Model# 35853R w. electric start.

The motor has 2 wiring harness? that connect together, then connect to corresponding posts into the ignition key switch. The guy I bought it off of used to just had a push button switch wired in as the 2nd wiring harness was missing. Id like to do it right and wire in they key switch beside the steering wheel and Gear/Gas handle control. The 2nd wiring harness seems to now be obsolete or unavailable so I will be making my own. I have purchased a Sierra MP39760 Off-Run-Start, Push to Choke, key switch (listed as aftermarket OEM replacement). I will attach a diagram which I think is the wiring from various sources via iboats forum. The center most post was labeled for Choke, however it is a manual choke. So I was not going to wire anything into that post.

The heavy gauge red wire goes directly from the positive of the battery to the big lug on the solenoid. not through the switch.
I think the S terminal goes to the small lug on the solenoid. to energize the solenoid when you turn switch to start.
The B terminal on the switch I believe is 12 V for accessories and solenoid power. The M terminal is the kill circuit for the mag.
No 12 volt goes to the mag.
