Hi everyone I just picked up a really good shape 21' 1998 Ski Ray tournament bow rider. The motor was swapped to a zz4 350 crate motor. I noticed that it has an Edelbrock AVS2 800 cfm carb on it. I questioned the guy on it and he said it's totally fine. He owns a diesel mechanical shop and has a good reputation so I took his word for it. Now I am thinking it would be a good idea to change to a marine carb. Am I overthinking this or am I on the right path and if so, would I be looking at the marine 750cm edelbrock as a bolt on fix?

Ayuh,..... A marine carb is very important,.....
The Edlebrock 1409 is the perfect choice for that motor,.....

Ok, I was thinking that.... You don't think the 1410 (750 cfm) would better match what's on there? It currently has 800 cfm

Hope he pulled the motor apart to put in marine head gaskets and brass core plugs

Highly suggest a marine carb

Hope it has marine ignition so it doesn't blow up

yes, he ran it for 3 years without issues. (yes he could just be lucky) The MerCruiser goodies are on it. Marine cam etc. I will be going through it to make sure however and hope to run things by you guys so we're safe before the summer

Nope, that's a big block carb, the 1409 is perfect for a 350,....
