I finally purchased a boat, its a invader hull that I know they went out of business, no biggie, and a 140 HP johnson, power trim. The engine is not the original and after it was installed they didnt hook any gauges up. The engine starts and runs good.

so...

does this engine have feed signals for
Temp?
Trim Level? (doubtful)
speedo? (this gauge was removed but I may replace it?)
speedometer? (this gauge was removed but I may replace it?)
there is another in the dash I can not think of right now.

is there carbs to clean? or any BIG maintenence or things to check before taking it for any major trips? I will be changing bottem end oil.

On that note, it should be mid to late 90s engine, any numbers to identify?

Also, is there a signal for when KEY ON? to power something like gas gauge.

any help appreciated =)

thanks

Temp? ... Comes with the temp gauge ... block should have a tapped boss for sensor. Make sure to get stuff for outboards.
Trim Level? (doubtful) Motors with power trim have a resistive trim sensor.
speedo? Has nothing to do with the motor, although newer motors have a pickup integral to the lower unit and tubed up to the lower powerhead housing. A tachometer is of way more value and there is a tach lead, in fact the control unit should have a receptacle for a plug and play connection to a tach if you get the mating plug assy.

There are carbs and a model and serial no. on a data plate attached to the port side of mounting bracket.

There are a number of grease fittings which need waterproof marine grease once a year at minimum.

There is also a switched lead from the ignition switch (purple), which may be used for a gas gauge, etc.
