Bought a Mariner 150 last night!

After months of saving up money for either a replacement motor or a rebuild of my Evinrude 150, I finally bought a new (used) motor for my '92 Stratos F/S. I found a '94 Mariner 150 Pro Mag, controls, cables and prop at a relatively local (90 miles) boat shop. I went down last night and looked at the motor and everything checked out. I wish I could have seen it run on the water, but you can't have everything I guess. I am just waiting now for them to let me know when it will be swapped out and ready for me to pick up. Thank you all for all of the answers and advice you provided on some of the motors I looked at. Thanks again. This is an awesome resource!

I will post some results after I put it in the water...hopefully next week!

Hope that you meant a magnum and not a super mag as it will last about as long as a fart in a whirlwind if you ski with it...

It is a 1994 150HP MARINER MAG III. I paid $2800 for the motor, controls, cables, prop, removal of the old motor (Evinrude), and the change over of cables, controls and motor.

That's a carb'd 2.5L V6, puts out a little over 150 at 5500 rpm. It's a spunky, reliable motor if you take care of it.
