Bought a used timer base, harness missing a wire connection.

I bought a used timer base off ebay for my 79 johnson 115, and seems to be the same except for the fact that my old timer base has 3 wires coming off the connector, plus one more wire boac/yellow stripe, going to another harness with a big red thing. The new timer base has the three wires but not the black/yellow. I figured I can strip the new harness and just use my old connectors. Does this seem like the way to go, or is there a reason why the new harness has only 3 wires per connector?

TampaBoater if its like mine the new connector has 3 wires and one empty hole you pull the blk/yellow wire out of your old one and push it in the new connector hope this helps if not someone with more knowledge will help im sure. good luck
