I have a 1989 Johnson 150 HP outboard (Model Number J150STLCEM) and just re-installed the rebuilt carbs. I can't find instructions on how to set up the throttle/carb adjustments. There is a cam lever that ties in to the linkage that ties all three carbs together, and I see no section in the manual (hint - the first letter S, that last letter is c) how to set up the initial adjustment. Then there is another linkage higher up on the motor - sitting above this cammed lever. There are nuts on each, but again, I don't see a section that talks about these linkage settings/adjustments. Can anyone out there give me a step by step. Had a problem with the engine bogging down right at 3000 RPMs. Problem still exists, but after the rebuilding of the carbs, the engine starts much easier - but it still holds back at 3000. Had a friend hop on the boat and as I steered he messed with the two different linkages and we were able to get the engine up to 5000 RPMs, no problem. So this is saying these two adjustment points need some work - but I can't find any details in either the manual or doing and extensive search.
