My son hit a rock and dinged up the SS prop on 217 ChrisCraft Concept 5.8 OMC outdrive. I was out of town and he felt bad about it so he ordered a replacement online (no return policy), same 14.25x19, but has pressed in hub instead of quick change hub, and it seems to be from a Mercruiser from what boat shop told me. Question is can the Merc center hub be pressed out and replaced with correct OMC pressed in hub, (his idea) or does he start over, sell the Merc prop, order the correct one (that's my thought). Original prop Rapture Michigan Wheel part # 993004 15 spline with quick change hub- New replacement Rapture Michigan Wheel part # 033076 15 spline with pressed in hub. Guy at the boat shop didn't know, doesn't repair props.

No expert but most just need a different hub kit
Did find a 200 and 201 which difference is up to 1990 and after 1990

Can also get your old prop fixed

Did find (on scream and fly) where a few folks used a one inch hole saw and cut out part of the hub to fix for OMC. Do look into this

20 years ago, I had the Hub of an OMC RAKER for Evinrude/Johnson, replaced with a Hub that let me use the Prop on a Volvo Penta Drive. Any Competent Prop Shop should be able to do it

The spline length and position on the Merc and OMC are different. The splines should be the same size. The merc prop should fit on the OMC, but not go on all the way.
I used a Mercrusier prop on my Johnnyrude outboard. I needed to drill out the splines nearest the inside of the prop to make it fit, plus I needed a new spacer for the outside of the prop.
