Hi

To put on water my 1997 Bayliner Capri 2050 CZ the hoist suspend the boat using the original Bow and Stern eyes which has 3/8 x 3”.

The original dimensional 3/8 is enough to hang up this boat with 2400 Weight? Is safe? After these years should I reinforce the Bow eyes?

Thanks, Almeida

I have never suspended my boat from the bow and stern eyes, but in my opinion I think this is a case of better safe than sorry. I would probably reinforce them just to be sure.

Thanks

Those eyes were designed for lifting ?

or they are only for securing the boat to a trailer ?

Well, the stern eyes were designed to hold vertical force since they are pulling downward toward the trailer. My guess is that since they are designed to have weight being pulled down - they can do the opposite direction as well.

As far as the bow eye --- not completely sure. That one is designed to have a pulling force on it.
