Bow in my bunks

The starboard bunk has a good bow in it, the port bunk is straight. Would anyone know why it would bend like that and should it be replaced? The bunks are eleven years old and they carry a seventeen foot Sunbird f&s with a 90 hp Johnson on their eight foot length. If they need to be replaced is there anything I must be wary of.
Thanks for any help.

I would replace them. It's very simple to do, measure them and purchase all the new hardware, Pre fab everything and take it all to the lake launch the boat and replace them in the parking lot. It will take less than 30min. to do them. Just take a hacksaw and a cordless drill along with wrenches to do the job.

I've replaced my bunks 3 times in 15 years. They bend and rot. once they get loose replace it. When they bend it's because of the grain. Replace it. Make up a set and replace them after you launch some day.

Thanks for the response. What new hardware would I need and where could I get it? Does I Boats sell it?

you don't need to replace the hardware usually. Just some pressure treated wood and marine bunk carpeting.

You can do it that way, but if something breaks when you are removing it, you will wish you had purchased the new hardware ahead of time. At the very least I would buy all new hardware and return anything you don?t think needs replacing. At least that way you will not be standing in the launch parking lot with a handful of broken pieces and having to make a trip to a store to find what you need. And if you go in saltwater it?s a pretty much guarantee you will need new hardware.

Look in the IBOATS parts and accessories under trailer bunks. Look at your brackets and see if they have them. If they don't try champion trailer. I would replace all brackets nuts and bolts and carpet. Also use stainless staples to attach the new carpet to your new bunks (presser treated wood)

A bow is not unusual and is OK if the bunks are actually contacting the hull and supporting it.

If not replace. Leave at least an inch behind the boat, sticking out. That insures full hull support.
