bow mount trolling motor?

I have a waco 12' jon boat. I purchased a motorguide 36# thrust 12v foot contolled trolling motor. The front deck is only about 12" wide if you measure it bow to stern. and sits down about 5 inches. The base of the trolling motor is 20 inches long. Is there anyone with experiance in monting this to the front of my boat? Looks are not a concern...function is.<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Suzuki40

I can't get a mental picture of your boat with the way you desribed it.<br />A friend of mine put a bow mount on his jon boat and he just bolted a large block of wood to the front of the deck. The block of wood should be tall enough so its flush with the top of the boat.<br />You just screw the trolling motor to the block of the wood.
