Here's the deal. Shoppin for a used boat. Wanna get some ideas on what to look for.

Mainly going to be used for a pleasure boat. Saltwater/Brackish Water Use. Some fishing, but mainly an Mississippi Gulf Coastal Island run around and backbay/river boat. Basically, a fun, reliable boat with a lil power, or at least the potential for me to be able to make it MOVE

Bowrider

17-19 ft

fiberglass V-hull is a must

Would prefer a Johnson/Evinrude outboard power

or

Mecruiser chevy power, small block V8, or 4.3 V6 (die hard bow tie guy, know the engines inside out) could make some serious power with one of these

so, whats everyones suggestion

Re: Bowrider Reccomendations?????

Just my two cents, but for some fishing in brackish waters would look for something that was of the self bailing variety that had fiberglass floors. They are usually referred to as dual consoles, but they are esecentially a bowrider with a better fishing set up. Much easier to clean and not nearly as likely to rot. I would also choose a outboard over a I/O. As far as brands there are lots of good boats out there. I have a Wellcraft and a Sea Pro. They are both solid boats, but there are many more. Hope this helps

Get whatever your budget will support..... watch out for older bayliner's.

yeah, thinking a "dual console" with fiberglass floors and an outboard for reliability is going to be the way to go

something with a fours stroke so i dont have to mix fuel too,
