I never could understand boxing.

Two men trying to beat the living C-R-A-P out of each other for no apparent reason, other than MONEY.

It's sick. Wer'e SUPPOSED to be civilized.

I guess, we're not. Return the "colliseum" with Christians being fed to lions.

We all wish for the ability to be a "Potentate" with his thumb pointed up-or-down.

We find that entertaining? I think we are-sick!

DJ I agree that boxing doesn't make much sense to me either however there are actually people out there that think my sitting in a boat drowning worms doesn't make any sense. To each his own Im guess!

Floyd was my favorite heavyweight, ever.

Won the crown at 21, first to ever regain it.

Never weighed much more than a Lt. Heavyweight and never more than a Cruiserweight but he beat the bigger guys who often outweighed him by 30lb.

Had the hardest left hook ever. Some say Smokin' Joe Frazier's left was harder, but I saw (on TV) him knock guys, including Ingemar Johansen, unconscious with it.

Will we ever again see a 185-190Lb undisputed heavyweight champion of the world? I doubt it.

Will we ever again see a humble gentleman heavyweight champion of the world? It sure would be nice but I wont hold my breath.

Thanks for the memories, Floyd.

When I was a kid,my dad took me to see the fight between Sonny Liston and Floyd Petterson.Sonny won the fight. The thing I will always remember was the feeling of friendship toward Sonny that Floyd Petterson seemed to broadcast before, during and after the fight. He made me love boxing.Later, the then, Cassius Clay made me hate it.

What's yer point?
There are plenty of people willing to beat each other's brains out for free....
But if you can get paid for it all the better...
So why not?
Kinda like being a car salesman....
It's basically useless, but entertaining ;) ....JK

What do you think of the new entertainment for kids{gangs}. They go around and find some poor soul and beat the crap out of them for fun.

Atleast with boxing it is 2 people sharing the same interest. The new way of boxing{rules} is much more safe then the old bare knuckle boxing.
