I'm sure this topic is in this forum somewhere, however, seeking your knowledge. Replacing the drain in my 1971 StarCraft TR150 Tri-hull. I'm in the home stretch of my rebuild and I'm perplexed with installation of the drain tube with flanging tool. I'm seeing O-rings being installed on most videos online and Moeller's instructions? The one that came out of the boat did not have O-rings. Is this a necessary with install, and; if so, do I do an O-ring on both sides of the thru-hull? The brass drain tube I purchased was a "Seadog" brand and certainly did not come with O-rings or any instruction/application info. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated!

O-rings are only used on tubes with the inner and outer collars. A brass tube re-flared on one end is sealed with 3M 5100 or equivalent - no O-rings.

You can make your own tube flaring tool for about 1/3 the price of buying one...
