bravo 1 gear oil in bilge,correction--help

my first post stated that the oil in the bilge was hydrolic oil.This was not correct.The oil is upper unit oil.There is a resevoir attatched to the transom
witha hose going down under the drive shaft.When we put gear oil in the resevoir,it all leaks out into the bilge within seconds.I cannot see any damage to the hose as far as I can reach,and I cannot get far enough
to get to the end of the hose.
Can someone help clue me in as to what the problem may be?
