I?m looking for a replacement inner transom plate for my bravo 2 drive. Is there a difference for the various bravos?

While the inner transom plate part number in the parts guide has superseded a few times mostly from 44117A8 to 8M0114816, there shouldn't be any significant changes done to impede installation...... Also you may happen to notice factory casting part numbers on the plate itself such as 8M0056824 as noted here, http://www.2040-parts.com/mercruiser...6824-i1485548/

The inner plate fits all the Bravos and Alpha model drives so you don't have to just look for a "bravo" listing in this case. For images and some other small details, try running the part numbers listed through EBay.

Ayuh,.... I defer to FT's extensive knowledge,.....

I know for a fact, the Alpha, Gen.II('91, 'n up) inner plates are the same as the Bravo inner plates, year for year,....
The Alpha 1,(pre-'91) may well be the same, but I know the Bravo's, 'n Gen.II's have an extra 2 thru-transom bolts/ studs,....
Those extra holes may be in the older Alpha 1 inner plates, I've just never actually checked 'em out,....

Good catch/reminder there Bondo as last night I meant to say Alpha "Gen 2's" are the same just for the safety margin of looking the inner plate up or buying a used one somewhere.....Upon further review of the part numbers matching, turns out the same inner plate measurements, etc. was used starting with/on the 1983 Alpha models on up to todays date..... R/MR/ALPHA ONE (Transom Assembly) 1983-1990 - 6216687 THRU 0F386995 = TRANSOM PLATE AND SHIFT CABLE

Any of the 1982 and under listed models use a different design/part number inner transom plate... http://www.mercruiserparts.com/1-and-alpha-drives

Be careful of cracked plates and stripped out nuts and bolts like mentioned in the following link, http://www.boatfix.com/merc/bullet/94/94_07.PDF
