In preparation for boating season, today I removed my outdrive for basic bellows/gimble bearing check and shift cable bellows replacement on my Bravo 2 drive serial # 0C505291. All went well shift bellows is on and cable re installed and adjusted. This leads me to my question. When the drive was off we saw the check valve on the transom housing between the 2 studs see pic
but there is not a fitting to recieve the check valve on the drive
. The Boat is an unmolested all original 1989 Invader cuddy cabin which has a round style drive lube monitor bottle. So the question is why is there a drive lube monitor bottle on the the boat but no provision for it on the drive, like the one seen in this pic
I found on line. Do I plug the hose going to the bottle fill the drive and go boating?? Any insight on this is greatly appreciated.
Next step is to pressure test the drive, check alignment and re install. Wish me luck
