Bravo 2 Outdrive Jumps Out Of Gear

1992 BRAVO 2 outdrive with 7.4 engine. The outdrive jumps out of gear forward and reverse when it reaches 2,500 rpms. Pull throttle back to neautral and it goes back in gear fine until 2,500 rpms are reached again, then back out. It was working fine before I changed props. Old prop was a 17x23p in bad condition. New prop is 19x21p both 3 blade alum. At first I thought it was a bad hub so I replaced the prop with another new one. Same thing accured. Any suggestions?

I would think that if it was truly jumping out of gear, that it would BANG back into gear when you let off. But I could be wrong about that. Any chance it's the engine coupler spinning? Can you see the back of the motor or smell it spinning the rubber hub?
