Bravo 3 Prop Nut

Helping a buddy with his boat. He damaged his prop this past weekend so I helped him pull it off. We used a large wrench to get the prop nut off as we didn't have a 1 7/16 socket. Looking at some online manuals, he didn't have the anode or the screw that holds the anode (boat is used in freshwater only). I was surprised there was no cotter pin holding the prop nut on. Is this normal for the Bravo 3? I know it needs to be torqued to 60 ft lbs but didn't know if we could just snug it with the wrench or not.

That is YES and NO
The older B3 units just used a self locking nut and never used a cotter pin.
The newer units use a longer brass nut which is tapped on the end to install another anode and secure with a stainless steel socket head screw

I know it needs to be torqued to 60 ft lbs but didn't know if we could just snug it with the wrench or not.

It says to torque but I never have. Just put a 2x between the cav plate and prop, then snug it down good.
