The Drive oil reservoir on my 7.4L Bravo lll overflows when I maintain a cruising speed unless I keep the reservoir well below the full line. The boat only has 75 hours on it. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks

Re: Bravo lll Drive Oil Reservoir overflow

Is the reservoir in it's stock location? or has it been moved ?(lower or level with the top of the drive) Another thing is that the drive maybe over filled. If the boat is out of the water lower the drive all the way down.Pour out the reservoir into a clean container(you can use it to top off if it's clean)Then take out the vent screw in the top of the drive,NOT THE BOTTOM DRAIN SCREW.Let the oil drain till it finds it's level with the vent hole ,this may take a while. When it's stoped draining out the vent hole put the screw back in.Then top of your reservoir.

Klo, I can tell you exactly whats wrong with it...the drive oil resivoir is not holding pressure...because the black rubber gasket that fits inside the resivoir cap has fallen out...with a little luck you will find it bilge divin' LOL...

ODD1....Great call! There was no rubber o-ring inside the cap. I went to my local Lowes and spent 49 cents and that seems to have solved the problem. Thanks again for your help!<br />klo
