I was just about done with the replacement of my bellows shift cable and water hose. I was making sure the shift cable bellows was in the right position before I put the crimp ring on by turning the drive all the way each way and raising the bell housing. When I did this I smashed the trim position sender between the gimbal ring and gimbal housing.

Reading the Merc manual it says I need to remove the bellows insert holding the U-Joint bellows to the bell housing and remove the hinge pins. to get to where the wires for the senders go throug the transom. Do I need to undo the shift cable and exhaust bellows from the bell hosing too?

Where do the wires go after they are in the boat? I assume over to the trim pump?

Thanks for the help.

-Nate

Re: Bravo Trim position/limit sender replacement

yep
remove the bellows and the bell housing. the trim limit and positin wires go to various places. one the the blue and purple wires on the trim wiring the other usually to the brown/white wire and ground. its a fun job but someone has to do it. dont even attempt a splice. wont last. been there done that.
nect time keep the senders attached to the gimabal ring at all times.

Are you saying you have to remove the bell housing completely?
